An upright stays assembled. We belt it onto a four-wheel piano dolly, run wide straps under the keybed, and use a stair-climbing skid board for any steps, with the heaviest end always uphill on a Capitol Hill stoop. A grand is the bigger production: we lower the lid, remove and pad the legs and lyre, stand the body on its straight side, and secure it to a padded grand board, then it rolls on the skid and gets blanketed corner to corner before it ever sees the truck. Both get strapped flat against the truck wall so nothing shifts on the I-25 ride or the curves of a mountain route. We also note the weather: hauling a lacquered instrument out into spring hail without a cover is how a finish gets ruined, so we wrap and time the load around the storm window.

The crew size matches the instrument and the building. A baby grand coming down a Wash Park staircase gets more hands than an upright rolling out a ground-floor garage, and we tell you which before you book so there are no surprises on the day. Piano and specialty moves start at $375 depending on the instrument, the stairs, and the distance. The $150 deposit holds your slot and applies to the total. Does a grand really call for different handling than an upright?
Quite a bit. An upright stays whole on its dolly, while a grand has the legs and lyre removed and travels on its side strapped to a padded board. Same level of care, an entirely different setup.
Can your crew get a piano down a steep Denver walk-up?
Yes, on a skid board with the crew set heavy-end uphill. Give us the stair count and any tight landings when you book and we'll send the right number of hands for it.
Where does pricing on a piano move begin?
It opens at $375 and climbs from there with the instrument type, the stairs involved, and the distance. A grand coming down three flights costs more than an upright rolling off a ground floor.
Will you move the piano on its own without a full household job?
